3.2.2.3 QSBA The weights used in WSBA outlined above are not fuzzy, and hence limit the interpretability of the induced rulesets. Quanti ed subsethoodbased approach (QSBA) [287] is an attempt to remedy this situation, by replacing weights with fuzzy quanti ers. Fuzzy quanti ers are one way to attach semantic labels to fuzzy sets as with the use of hedges (see Section 2.2.6). They can be seen as exible tools for the representation of natural language, making existing fuzzy models more readable. Fuzzy quanti cation techniques can be based on the generalization of rst-order logic quanti ers, where the quanti cation mechanism involves the de nition of the existential quanti er, (exists at least one) and of the universal quanti er, (for all).
