Doing this generated the necessary browser tags that force a client download of the Java plug-in (which the applet requires). When you are developing applets that must contact EJBs, consider developing a servlet for the applet. When the applet needs information contained or created by an EJB, it can contact the servlet, which will handle the actual EJB work. Using a servlet decouples your applet from the EJB container, building in more flexibility for your applet.
