You can compile this code using ocamlc -I +ocamldoc -c cool.ml and then run it by using ocamldoc -g cool.cmo I +ocamldoc cool.ml. This enables you to see the cool tag. Don t pass the command any output flags; otherwise, it uses that flag instead of the custom generator. This generator adds the cool tag only to HTML output; if you want to do it for the other outputs, you have to subclass their output classes individually. More complete custom generators are not this simple in fact, they can be very complicated (and happen very rarely).

The $ is a function that belongs to JQuery and uses selectors to locate the needed element. Its syntax for getting at an element is elaborate and forms the core of JQuery. Listing 17 13 shows some of the many ways of using a selector.

Your final step in the process to create the test harness is to update the application s AndroidManifest.xml file. This file, which is automatically created for you when you create a new project, is available in your project s root directory. This is the place where you register the Activity class (such as SampleMenusActivity) and where you specify a title for the activity. Now that you understand ocamldoc, you should be able to add documentation to your code and produce high-quality output for it. I don t know that it will make you a better programmer, but it will make your code more likely to be used correctly. Keep in mind that OCaml programmers will look for ocamldoc in your code. Ocamldoc does not, however, replace careful commenting. Think of ocamldoc as comments for the users of your code, whereas comments are often more important for maintainance programming or future extensions.

Once a certain set of elements is selected using these selectors, you can filter the output nodes further by using the following filter syntax:
